wed, went for the usual volunteerin session on my way there, saw a little boy hidin at a corner of the void deck beside the family centre at first, didn't realli bother n i hope to reach the centre earlier took a closer look n found out tat it was Viance hidin there he is one of the children i met in the family centre veri bubbly, talkative pri 1 student n i like his name alot unique n nice so went up to him n ask him why was he hidin in the void deck becos usualli at tat time, he shld be in the centre doing his homework he didn't reply mi i asked again he remain silent n started fidgetin his shoes i told him to go in the centre wit mi then he finalli told mi the reason he said 'i did something realli realli bad. im afraid auntie jasmine will scold mi..........' he told mi numerous reasons why he didn't want to go in so i started advisin him it didn't work tried many ways n he jus wun listen to mi we sat at the corner of the void deck for 30mins i even tried temptin him wit rewards like chocolates n sweets those usual tactics which usualli work finalli i told him viance, u must be a brave boy,u don't want auntie jasmine to scold u rite, but are u gng to escape forever. then u will be missin all the fun we had. u won't be able to go to the playgrd wit us anymore. n if u're gng to hide here, she's gng to scold u agn. then she will hav two things to scold u blah blah blah.... n he finalli agreed n we went in together this incident realli showed my incapability of counsellin others durin the talk, i cldn't realli string my tots clearly n find a way to convince him at some pt, i was actualli speechless it jus shows hw____ i was haiz... in the past, whenever someone cries or in confusion i alwaes try to stay away frm it becos i alwaes think that maybe it's better to let the person calm down first n think through it if he/she realli nids help, then i will alwaes be free to provide tat listenin ear n some advice but for kids, it's different they nid guidance n help ... |
