yest
while i was walkin home
there was tis wheelchair bound uncle
his hands didn't hav the strength to push the wheels
so the onli solution was to slowly push his way thru usin his legs
step by step
u cn see tat alot of strength was used to move jus tat little step
and the pathway wld take him close to an hr compared to our 5mins walk

n wat did the passer-bys do?

nth...nonchalent
no one offered to help
jus as i was ponderin whether to help n when i was abt to take the initiative
the henry park pri sch boy went to ask uncle where he was headin n wheeled him to his destination
it was spontaneous
straight after he saw the uncle

all the adults didn't help
shame on them
and shame on mi for even thinkin whether to help
hav we given our moral education bac to CME teachers?
in pri sch,
when we take wat's noe as civics and moral education
we often get an A grade for tat
tat's becos everione noes wat's the morally correct answer
in sec sch,
we often hav an A grade for CIP
with a hell lot of CIP hrs
tat's becos we wan our report card to look nicer

everione noes wat's the right thing to do
but no one decides to act on it
jus a simple act
do we nid to give out gifts or awards jus to make ppl more helpful and considerate?

wat's the society becomin of?
a society tat onli do things tat will benefit them
someone once asked mi, " y u alwaes go volunteerin?it's jus a waste of time don't u think so?"
to her, volunteerin is a waste of time and u get nth in return
i beg to differ
u learned alot of things out of it
it's a learnin process
to learn hw to interact with them
get closer to them
and of cos one thing u will learn is patience
and the sense of satisfaction is alwaes there

The highest reward for a person's work is not what they get for it, but what they become because of it.

hwever, mani ppl cn't see tat.

Too often
we under-estimate the power of a touch,
a
smile,
a kind word,
a listening ear,
an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
